Tanyu Kolev, PhD, and Jivko Kolev, MD, of the Sub Specie Aeternitatis – 2011 association presented their joint paper, “From the Technological Singularity to a Model of the Universe,” in the Longevity and Transhumanism session of the XIX International and Interdisciplinary Scientific Conference Vanguard Scientific Instruments in Management 2026.
The conference takes place from 8 to 14 September 2026 in Ravda, Bulgaria, with both in-person and online participation. Its organizers include the Department of Management at the University of National and World Economy, the Bulgarian Academic Simulation and Gaming Association, and the International Longevity Alliance.

The presentation explores the relationship between technological singularity and Tanyu Kolev’s model of the universe from a systemological perspective. It brings together his longstanding work on the model, the philosophy of humanity’s future, and the prospect of achieving immortality through technology.
The session programme also includes Natasha Vita-More, Jose Cordeiro, David Wood, Didier Coeurnelle, and Ilya Stambler, addressing topics ranging from artificial intelligence and technological singularity to longevity education and the future of transhumanism.
From Cosmos ’85 to VSIM 2026
The work presented at the conference has its origins in 1985, when Tanyu Kolev first introduced his systemological model of the universe at a conference devoted to humanity’s future in space. In his account of the development, Kolev describes it as the first model of the universe formulated from the perspective of systemology.
The accompanying archival photograph records Cosmos ’85 — the First National Conference with International Participation, held in Varna, Bulgaria, on 14–16 November 1985. There, Kolev shared his ideas with specialists from the then Eastern Bloc.
Over the following decades, Kolev continued developing the hypothesis into a structured conceptual system addressing the philosophical dimensions of humanity’s future and the technological pursuit of immortality. The VSIM 2026 paper places this continuing work within the international discussion of longevity and transhumanism.
